Procrastination

According to the University of Calgary, one out of every four people is a chronic procrastinator. Whether you are a student waiting until the last minute to study for a test, an employee waiting until the last minute to turn in a project, or a mom who doesn't do the laundry until she's surrounded by mounds of dirty clothes, it can be too easy to make excuses and create distractions rather than just doing what we have to do. The fact is that procrastination causes stress, anxiety, fear and pressure. Procrastination is not conducive to success, and is actually more work than simply completing the task. 

When we procrastinate it's usually because we are undecided, we lack vision and/or we lose concentration.  Many people say that they procrastinate because they work better under pressure. However, a study published in the International Journal of Innovation and Learning states that working under pressure causes mental fatigue and negatively affects quality, productivity, commitment, and innovation.

Now is definitely not the time to procrastinate when it comes to your Vessel business.  As you know, we have already announced our launch date, June 22nd.  People are out there waiting to hear about Vessel, so let's go out and share this great opportunity!   If you haven't made your list of possible contacts, work on it today.  If you’ve made your list, but haven’t contacted all of the people on the list, then work on that today.  Let’s take advantage of the fact that the Pre-Launch Stylist Kit is available at an incredible value for a limited time, as is the opportunity of becoming a Founding Stylist.  We already have Stylists successfully sharing this opportunity with others.  My invitation to you today is act NOW to do the same.  Tomorrow might not bring you the same opportunities of success!

VESSEL IS LAUNCHING!

Developing and implementing Vessel has been a wonderful journey.  We have met and worked with so many wonderful people along the way, especially our amazing Vessel Stylists.  Karen and I know, without a doubt, that our Stylists will determine the success of this company.  We are excited about the journey so far, and the great things that have happened over the past few months we have been in pre-launch. 

We are ready to officially LAUNCH!!

Our Launch Event is scheduled for June 22, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  We would absolutely LOVE to have as many of our "Vessel family" there as possible, so we have created an incentive to help Stylists with part (or all!) of the cost of the trip to Utah.

TRAINING YOUR DOWNLINE: DUPLICATION IS THE KEY

Hello Stylists! This week I want to talk about the third step of the basic training to build your successful Vessel Team.

This business is all about duplication. The only way we can grow is if we train others to do the same thing we do, because there is only one of us and only 24 hours in a day.  The ultimate goal of this business is financial and time freedom, not killing ourselves in the process. The secret is that you need to train each new Stylist on your team to duplicate the steps you have taken to become a successful Stylist.  Here is a method you can use to get them off to great start.  Assuring a new Stylist that you will be with her through her first three Home Parties will help her gain confidence that she too can build a successful Vessel business.

1^st Home Party: You present the party; she is there as your shadow to take notes on everything. After the party, you will meet and discuss any questions and suggestions. Then you will ask her what part of the presentation she would feel most comfortable to present or be in charge of next time.

2^nd Home Party: You will both be in charge, but she needs to do at least 40% of the work. Afterwards you can talk about how it went, compliment her on the aspects that went well, and talk about her “should improves”. Then you give her the news that she will be 100% in charge of the next party.

3^rd Home Party: The Stylist will present this third party, but of course you will be there to help her and guide her. After the party, you again compliment her on the positive points of the party and talk about what could be improved. 

At this point, she should be ready to do parties on her own.  However, her training isn’t over yet!  Now she’s ready to learn how to show her new Stylists this very same method. 

The best thing about this is that you are creating a system.  This is exactly what she will do with her new people - and that, my friends, is what gives you freedom. This system is how you can make money while you are on vacation or even sleeping.

I suggest that once in a while you ask to be invited to some of these Home Parties, just to make sure that nothing has been lost in translation or fallen through the cracks. But remember, you are creating a TEAM.  Ultimately, no one should feel like they are a boss, or that they have a boss.  After all, isn’t that one of the reasons you wanted to build a successful direct sales business?
